Our Story

We had a dream of running a cozy lodge that would provide opportunities for families and friends to enjoy a unique and memorable vacation. After years of living and working in Europe, we wanted to provide the same opportunities for exploration and relaxation that we had during our time overseas.


Our travels have given us enough good experiences—and a few really bad ones—to help us know how to take care of our guests while they're with us. So from our family to yours, we hope you enjoy your stay at the Winzig Lodge!

Why We Chose

Lava Hot Springs

Lava Hot Springs reminded us of the many fun places we'd visited throughout Europe. The beautiful mountains, amazing sunsets, clear hot springs, fun town festivals, river tubing, and proximity to skiing, golfing, and hiking inspired us to build our dream Bavarian-style lodge for everyone to enjoy.
