About Lava Hot Springs, ID
Winzig Lodge puts you on the doorstep of the world-famous Lava Hot Springs. These natural hot springs carry a host of minerals, without the sulfur smell, helping you relax and enjoy your time in the water.
There are five different pools at the hot springs that range in temperature between 102°F and 112°F. Open all year, these five pools are perfect during the winter months too.
In addition to the hot springs, our area is also home to an outdoor Olympic swimming complex and water slides that are open from Memorial Day until Labor Day. The indoor swimming pool complete with a Kiddie Cove is open year-round.
Finally, the Portneuf River provides water-time fun for all ages with floating the river being one of the most popular summer activities. Even in February during Lava Hot Springs' Fire & Ice Winterfest you can still find people brave enough to float the river in tubes!

This place is phenomenal. It’s about a 13 minute walk from the hot springs, the room was super clean, the kitchenette has just about everything you need for a small trip, and the owner is very responsive and helpful. I requested that the room be decorated for my significant other’s birthday, and the effort that was put in by the owner absolutely exceeded my expectations. If I came back to Lava I would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I have stayed at the Winzig twice and we really enjoyed both visits. The rooms are clean and thoughtfully appointed including a hot plate, utensils and dishware to make dinner. There are, also gas grills available. The property is quiet and well maintained and only about a 1/4 mile from downtown shops.
